Meet Dr. Tyler Slate

Dr. Tyler Slate is a native of Canton, GA and graduate of Cherokee High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia Southern University in 2016 before completing his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) with high distinction at the University of Kentucky. Following dental school, he returned to Georgia to attend a General Practice Residency at the Dental College of Georgia in Augusta. He began private practice in Statesboro, Georgia in 2023 and, in January 2025, acquired the practice of his long-time mentor, Dr. George Mason.
Dedicated to lifelong learning, Dr. Slate is passionate about providing comprehensive, high-quality care. He emphasizes the important connection between oral and overall health, tailoring treatment to the needs of each patient. While experienced in all areas of general dentistry, his particular interests include:

When Dr. Slate puts the drill down, he enjoys spending time with his wife Danielle, and young son Ellis. He enjoys the outdoors, and is particularly passionate about fishing, kayaking, and grilling. Dr. Slate is honored to return to the very office where his dental journey first began and looks forward to serving the Lafayette community for years to come.
